About Cherie Barber
From little things,
big things grow
big things grow
At the age of 22, Cherie embarked on a minor renovation and cosmetically flipped her first property, making a tidy profit. She immediately bought another property and triumphed again. The rest, as they say, is history. Today she is one of Australia’s most successful professional renovators and property experts.
In 2009, Cherie established her company, Renovating For Profit, after constant requests from people asking how she did what she did. More than 10,000 Aussies have now undergone her training, making her the clear market leader for quality property renovation education.
Cherie readily admits she learned her renovating skills the hard way: by trial and error. It’s not a road she recommends, which is why she is so passionate about teaching would-be renovators her highly strategic approach to buying and cosmetically renovating properties.
Cherie was a finalist in two categories of the highly prestigious Telstra Business Woman of the Year awards in 2013. She is a national brand ambassador for Asbestos Awareness and was honoured in 2016 as one of the Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence.
Cherie perfected the art of the 5 Day Flip for her own US renovating show. Together with her crack team of tradies, she demonstrated it's possible to get in, transform the property and get it back on the market in just five days!
Cherie has appeared on Asia's biggest design reality TV show, The Apartment, bringing her uniquely Australian perspective and renovation expertise to this award-winning design series.
A popular fixture on Channel 9's morning show, Today Extra, Cherie regularly astounds audiences with her lightning fast transformations, whether it's updating a dowdy facade, creating a glamorous living room or restoring order to a hoarder's garage.
This was the show that gave Australians their first glimpse of Cherie's extraordinary renovation skills, sealing her fame as Australia's Renovation Queen. Now in her seventh season on The Living Room, Cherie continues to pull off amazing transformations on ridiculously small budgets.
